Organizations

Manage organizations to run MockAPI at the company level with org-level billing, seats, SSO, and consolidated usage.

Overview

Organizations let you manage mock API projects at the company level instead of only as individual users. An organization owns projects, has its own billing subscription, and can invite members with seat-based access.

  • Organization-level billing and subscription
  • Seat-based member limits per plan
  • Org-level SSO for users with the company email domain
  • Consolidated API usage across all org projects
  • Invite members via email with Admin or Member role

Creating an Organization

To create an organization, go to Organizations in the sidebar and click "Create organization".

  • Enter the organization name
  • Optionally set a URL-friendly slug (auto-generated if left empty)
  • Optionally add a domain for SSO configuration
  • Click "Create organization"

Organization Roles

Organization members have one of two roles:

RoleDescriptionCapabilities
AdminFull control over the organizationManage billing, members, settings, SSO; invite and remove members; move projects
MemberAccess to org projectsView and work on org projects; cannot manage org settings or billing

Billing & Plans

Organizations use the same plan tiers as personal accounts. Billing is charged at the organization level.

PlanSeatsDescription

TEAM5–25Seat-based; add members as you upgrade
BUSINESSUnlimitedUnlimited members
ENTERPRISEUnlimitedUnlimited members; custom agreements

Plan Requirement

Org-level billing requires a paid plan. See Plans & Billing for full feature comparison.

Members & Invitations

Invite team members to join your organization via email. Each invited user receives a link to accept the invitation.

Inviting Members

From the organization detail page, open the Members section and click "Invite member". Enter the email address, choose Admin or Member role, and send. The recipient must have or create a MockAPI account to accept.

Seat Limits

Each plan has a maximum number of members (seats). When the limit is reached, you must upgrade to add more members. The organization detail page shows current member count and upgrade options.

Organization SSO

Organizations can configure single sign-on (SSO) for users whose email matches the organization's domain. When SSO is enabled:

  • Users with @yourdomain.com emails can sign in via your IdP
  • SSO is configured at the organization level (Settings → SSO)
  • The organization must have a domain set before configuring SSO

Note

To update SSO settings after initial configuration, use the API or contact support.

API Usage

API usage is aggregated across all projects in the organization. The organization detail page shows total usage and project count for the current billing period.

Moving Projects to an Organization

Personal projects can be moved to an organization. From the project settings, use the "Move to organization" option to associate the project with an org you belong to. The project then uses the organization's billing and appears under the org in the project selector.
